Stats

First read the Character Model to understand the Mind, Embodiment, skills, and items. Stats describe the capabilities of a Mind or an Embodiment. This page defines what each stat means. See Roll Checks for rolling and combining stats with skills, and Stat Generation for creating starting Mentalic values.

Stat Scale

Stats are signed percentage-point bonuses. Record them as +N%, 0%, or −N%. A stat modifies a check; it is not itself the complete chance of success.

Stat Groups

Stats are split into two groups: Mental and Physical.

Mental

Mental attributes describe the mind itself. They are not skill proficiencies and do not make a character trained in any skill.

EQ — Emotional Intelligence

Wisdom, insight, common sense, empathy, and the ability to understand or persuade other people.

WILL — Willpower

Mental fortitude: the ability to withstand stress and coercion, impose intent, dominate, and intimidate.

Reflexes

Speed of thought and reaction: how quickly the mind notices a developing situation, changes course, or understands what is happening.

Perception

The ability to receive and process sensory information, including sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, balance, and proprioception.

Physical

Physical stats have no skills of their own. A check combines a physical stat with a Mentalic stat and learned training as described in Roll Checks.
